T.G.I.F!!

The freedom of the weekend is so close I can smell it... and it smells like a Panera Bread oatmeal raisin cookie.
::drool:: ... ::drip::

Again, I apologize for the long absence.  I initially had planned on keeping this corner of mine groomed and up to date... But unlike when I was unemployed and, for the most part, free to do as I please-- I now have a pretty occupied, tight schedule.  It seems as though time lapses are going to be the norm for the time being and therefore future apologies for this issue will just have to go unannounced and be understood.  Agreed?... Cool.

So on with the new events:

As many family and friends are already aware, four weeks ago Telly C. and Jay C. made it out of the retirement town of Aiken, SC and moved to the Greenville area of SC.  We're thankful for the opportunities we were able to take advantage of in little ol' Aiken, but it seemed like it was about time to move on to a new chapter of life beyond what Aiken could offer us.  My husband landed a new job at one of the engineering companies in the area, so now it has brought me back to my old neck-of-the-woods.  So far we both have been enjoying the new community we live in;  it's ideal for getting just about anywhere.  And did I mention my mother is THRILLED to have her "little girl" back within reach?

I must say, I do miss my old coworkers from the Kay Jewelers I worked at while in Aiken... However, luckily I was able to transfer to a sister jewelry store here in the area with no problem.  It was nice being able to make the move without having to worry about creating another novel of unemployment;  I continued working a couple days after we arrived in town-- that was a blessing.

On Thursday of last week I actually started another job that I landed in the final week of November.  [Yes, there's been a lot of job shuffling and adjustments going on in these few weeks of transition.]  I now work for a company called MCE which, in short, is an office-like job that consists of lots of calls, emails, and my own cubicle that is becoming increasingly decorative with notes and papers as time progresses.  It's a blessing to see how I have gone from being unemployed and job searching for 5 months, to finally getting a job in September, and now having two jobs in December.  God has truly been doing His thing on my behalf!  I can say that working two jobs leaves my schedule very occupied and my shoes needing some insoles at times.. but I'd much rather be working and adding to the household funds rather than go back to being at home with too much spare time on my hands.  The one thing I do have to learn and adjust to is staying on top of my chores at home; I've found myself on a couple of occasions having to play an all day round of the "catch up" game.  Es no bueno..

Fortunately I am off on Saturday! But it's still going to be a busy day... full of quality time with my husband :).  I hope to also fit in a Panera Bread oatmeal raisin cookie, those things are--what do the kids call it these days... "the bomb.com."
