Judging??

I haven't posted anything from my husband in a while.  Here is the most recent helpful word he's written addressing the misconception of what it means to "judge".  I pray this helps us all learn and grow!

Let us look at the issue of judging and educate ourselves as to what judging someone really is. There have been times in the midst of correcting someone according to the word of God, they have used “Don’t judge me” as a defense mechanism. There is a difference between correcting someone when you see them doing wrong, discerning what is and what isn’t of God, and judging someone. Let us define judging and go to the word of God and see what judging really is…

The freedom of the weekend is so close I can smell it... and it smells like a Panera Bread oatmeal raisin cookie.

Victory is Mine!

Apologies, to anyone who keeps up with my blog-- I haven't scribbled anything in about a month now.  When we last left off I was speaking of my unemployment and the swag there of... But now {drum roll} as of Wednesday, September 14th I have been brought on board with Kay Jewelers! {"Ceeeelebrate good times, come on!"}

UNEMPLOYMENT, I BID YOU ADIEU!!

An Exerpt from My Story of [un]Employment: Swag

"Hop up out the bed
Turn my swag---"
{click...click............ click..}
Aw, man..
I see swag as either one of two things: 1) A type of arrogance people project as a means to attract other people [usually the opposite sex] or 2) very big confidence with a side of strut, borderline to arrogance but not quite there-- more so in the sense of being ready to take each day by the horns and say "THBBBBBBBBB!!!" in its face while spraying spittle in its eye.

Excuse Me, Your Telescope is Backwards!

This is just a thought I'm sharing that came to me while I was in the shower a little while ago.
Why are so many people reluctant to follow Christ the way that he asks us to follow him?  Why do people feel that it doesn't take "all that" to be a believer?  Why do people not take salvation seriously?  Well, I believe a portion of the problem is because so many people look at holiness as if looking backwards through a telescope... they see a very distant narrow view of things.

Big Sights & Night Lights!

"Left a good job in the city
working for the man every night and day!
And I never lost one minute of sleeping
thinkin' bout the way things might have been!"

... I'm sorry, thinking about the city gave me the sudden urge to sing "Proud Mary".

Simple Recap

It's about 7:00 am.
Want to know three things I learned this week?

The first thing:  On Sunday at church our pastor let us know that he had been elevated to Bishop the prior week!  What an honor!  But the message he preached on was one to provoke thought.  In short of things, the basis of the sermon was that Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden were not the first two human beings God created.

Nick @ Nite, Grits, and Animal Planet. Hello Monday!

I woke up this morning at 6:09am [before my husband, rare],  I rolled out of bed like a gymnast [no blindness or stumbling], I thanked the Lord for my fully functioning limbs and sound mind, and be-bopped into the kitchen to make hubby's lunch.  Jay C woke up about 20 minutes later, poked around with his phone, and eventually gimped out of bed with is bum leg that he tweaked yet again playing basketball last night..
HELLO MONDAY MORNING!

Good Ol' Aiken

I've been in Aiken for a little over 3 months now.   It's one of the retirement towns of SC... abundant in elders, horses, and trees.  Why am I here, you ask?  If it weren't for the fact that Aiken is also an engineering town and my husband landed right in his field of work here after college-- I wouldn't be here, and certainly, neither would he.  It is very quiet here, and one must embrace the simple things in life for entertainment...  the park, a ride in the car, etc.

Tunes!

Mali Music- "Strength/You Are"
This song just makes me glad!

Sometimes we have to simply get over ourselves and trust in the Lord.  We have to let God be God-- the source of our strength and strength of our life.  I hope you feel these songs as much as I do!

Men of Standard- "Yet Will I Trust in Him"
Great song to meditate to!

Party Over Here, Ain't Nothin' Over There?

I was thinking...

Ever heard a crowd start chanting "Party over here, ain't nothin' over there!  Party over here, ain't nothin' over there!"...  Yes?  No?  Well if not, it's like the other cliche' chant from back in the day, "The roof!  The roof!  The roof is on fire!  We don't need no water--" and so on, you might know the rest.

The Caramel to My Apple Slices!

Meet my other half, Jamin!

Marriage is such a blessing!!   Especially when you're young enough to have time to enjoy a couple years together before children without having to worry about a time crunch.  We don't plan on baking any loaves in the oven any time in the immediate near future [God willing]!

Keep Yo' Hands Off!

HAAA!! This just never gets old... lol. Defend what's your's little one!

Love?...

My husband Jamin [who will be called Jay C. from here on] is a very insightful man when it comes to God [and other things].  I mean really, he'll make you think.  He has given me the O.K to share some things he's written about as well.  I pray you receive something from it!

Deceptive Nature...

Here is another piece that my husband wrote.  This is more emphasis on the need to live upright and holy before God.  Sin is of course in our nature, but our own nature is what Satan likes to use to deceive us.  We can, however, have the power to overcome our own nature!  Awesome, right? I pray you receive something from it!
